All adults here are AKC registered. Puppies are sold at "Pet Prices" (no papers)unless otherwise stated. You however can ask for copies of the parents papers or pedigrees for your own piece of mind. They have their first round of shots and have been wormed at 2,4,6 & 8 weeks, and are groomed and vet checked before leaving. NO puppies are ever sold to pet shops or to litter lots!
I very seldom sell a puppy with breeding right so if you want breeding rights ask first. I am very selective. This is only because of things can happen and not everybody knows what to do in emergency situations. But note there will be an extra fee for full breeding rights. Puppies are born and raised in my home. They are handled constantly and exposed to household and outside noises so they will be well adjusted. Pups are kept here till I feel they are ready to go (usually around 7-8 weeks. Before that age they are not mentally or physically mature enough to leave home. Smaller pups may be kept longer till I feel they are ok to leave. Pups will be used to grooming so they will be used to this sort of thing when they get older and need to go to the groomer
We can occasionally meet new owners for pick ups in nearby towns!! We sometimes are in the Louisville or Bowling Green area and in Elizabethtown area quite frequently. Ask us! We do sometimes travel further for a fee.
Male or Female??
I get this question quite often when people are trying to decide on a puppy. Most people think that females make better "family pets" but from experience this isn't entirely true.
My males are some of the most affectionate, loving, sweet and gentle natured dogs ever. They also seem to be less moody. Males can sometimes be more puppy like and playful for a longer period of time. If neutered early males tend not to lift their legs or mark. Female if not spayed will have "heat" cycles 2 times a year where they will bleed and they are moody and you will have to keep them away from male dogs and they will have to be supervised closely because many times males from all of over the neighborhood will be coming to "visit" and you will have the chance of an unwanted pregnancy if she is not spayed. Having a male neutered is about 1/2 price of a female being spayed and generally males are sometimes cheaper depending on the breeder. With all of this being said it is your choice but raising both males and females they both have good qualities and you cannot make a bad choice with any schnauzer because they are some of the sweetest, smartest and most loyal companions anyone could have.
